I bought a set of Lancer's from Wirth's for my 52, and after trying them on a wheel I realized the valve stem isnt long enough to come through the cover. These seem like they really will stay on tight, so pulling them off occasionally to check pressure might get to be an issue. Does everyone using these typically just get longer stems or what? I've always loved the look of these covers but this may be a deal breaker for me. Any info would be great.
Screw on an an extension cap on each one. They sell them at O’Riellys, AutoZone, and Tres Amigos DeLa Pep, etc 4 in a pack plated or black...$3-4.00
I have them on my car . The problem is the hole doesn't line up with the valve stem . It's to far away . The extension would be on too severe of an angle.
Thanks for the reply's guys! I remember seeing the extenders before but I've never needed to use them. As far as the holes not lining up, I'll have to see how bad it is.
Be aware if the Lancers are overseas products, was ready for show & tell with my new caps on the '54 BelAir. One of them made it through the roundabout before the car and I DID! Just Sayin.. Dyno Dave
