I know there's a lot of these guys on here probably, and we don't want to insult anybody, but who's work do you like the best and why? I was blown away last Friday by the work from many of you guys, and looking forward to seeing more tomorrow!

Personally, I'm tied between diggin' Von Franco and Sonny DePalma's stuff. On the upside, one West Coast and one East Coast. I'm a big Roth fan, so both of thier works are right up my alley. Watching Von Franco's "I was a teenage monster shirt painter" was like the story of my own life. It's amazing how many of us got influenced by the same things. I spent many a day sitting with a hot rod magazine, copying those tiny Roth ad's onto paper and coloring them. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time watching the airbrush artists in the windows of Daytona's "Rats Hole" and "Shirt Shack" t-shirt shops. My Dad gave me my first airbrush, a "Binks "Wren" when I was 10. I've never put one down since.

Robert Williams because I like art with a Joke built in.
I wish he could paint a guy polishing a turd.
I really dig Weesner, Coop, and Jeff Norwell's scribbles.

  3. Keith Weesner and Josh "SHAG" Agle because both create awesome, consistent art that is fun and surreal, but has a believable (but not necessarily literal) frame of reference.

Two favorites of mine from Weesner:

I gotta vote for Robert Williams as my favorite even though I wonder what makes him come up with some of his stuff. I've liked his work for years, just found out recently he grew up just a few blocks from me, musta gone to school with my brothers.

I heart Zombie... especially his cartoony stuff which doesn't get enough notoriety.
Of course Weesner and Shag's stuff rules... I also like Jeff Allison's black and white artwork. He can nail just about anything with style... and Makoto. Love me some Makoto.

I have to go with Squindo not only is he a great guy who would do anything for anybody. He bailed our club out when another well known artist shafted our car club on a show flyer not to mention our logo thats on the van.

    Indeed, he is still around.

I like too many… each one for different reasons… some have been mentioned… I've met many of them… some I consider freinds & colleges…

Art is self expresion not a contest! No body can express you better then you!

  26. I like hot rods and custom cars. Traditional ones.

    FYI.

You guys are right, too many to make a narrow field of choice!

I really like Weesners stuff too. I especially like the ones that look like old model boxes, such a killer idea! Zombie's stuff is tuff too, got that same edgy style. Some of the showrod stuff he's done are my favorites.
