I bet the car was on consignment from Jones Auto Inc. in Orleans,Indiana.

So technically it could be Indiana Jones car.[IMG]HRP

Thanks for all the replies. George Lucas must be partial to 32's and he keeps finding them for his movies. :) This one has some distinctive parts so I thought someone must know who owned it. Not a bad little hot rod and it seems to handle pretty well.

I'm sure Jay (Jive-Bomber) could find out for you, if he doesn't already know. ;)

They used 2 different cars in the film or the upper one is a scam.

If it wasn't misrepresented as the movie car how much do you think the roadster would have sold for?

It's nice to see that some s***bag's dishonesty didn't bring big stupid money...

  9. It's pretty easy to see its not the same car.
Wouldn't the buyer be able and responsible for his own due diligence?

What I took away from that clip is that the 50 Ford government car looks like he must have been driving along that long stretch of highway in second gear and then decided to shift into high when they started racing.

The roadster as the top is definitely a 30/31 Model A and not a 32 Ford. HRP

Even the frame horns are a dead giveaway, look low they drop down on the Deuce frame but are not so pronounced on the A frame. Someone went to a lot of trouble to try to clone the car, but they started with the wrong year parts.

But to show you how the average non car person views these cars, the reason I looked up this video was because a guy I work with told me he saw the movie the other day and there was a "T Bucket" in the beginning of it and it had this neat V8 emblem on the front of the grille shell. As we can see, it is a Deuce and the emblem is not on the shell, but on the modified 32 headlight bar.

But I'm glad he told me about it because the car is pretty cool.

The better question is who is the fraud victim that owns this model A .

There used to be a Scottish hot rodder , shug..in san bernadino area ...so-what" speed shop who used to build and sell basic hotrods in the late 90s and early 2000s for some reason I thought that he put together that roadster in the Indiana jones movie. I can't remember why I came to that conclusion... I know he built one or two very similar

Someone paid a lot of attention to detail to build a clone then use the wrong body... Pretty remarkable and stupid if the intent was to p*** it off... I'd be willing to bet it was a back up car they had for the movie also... I remember watching the fall guy when I was young the stunt trucks were usually 73-80 gmc trucks and the main truck was an 81-82 very different paint and sheet metal ... Bet they used some 68 chargers for the general lee too

How much did it sell for?

Cool little hot rod, and bought for a pretty good price. Maybe the buyer bought it for what it is; a cool little hotrod. I don't see what the big deal is.

The big deal is that it is fraud. Also, it would seem that the auction company let them get away with it , and are also guilty.

You're right , the price it sold for seems
Fair for what the buyer got, probably because they knew what they were looking at. It would be much worse had it sold for big money.

What else has been sold through that auction company based on lies?

So,.... If that's the same shoebox,.... Where are the brackets under the front bumper next to the bars ???.... This one would be a LOT easier to fake.. (Just my skeptical nature I suppose)

Lost the link in the OP... So here ya'all go.
