I don't know my Ford parts at all. I'd think it is a flathead V8. what year though?

Looking at all the parts; My guess this whole setup was in a Ford early rod with a Nailhead buick motor. it looks like a 53-56 Buick pattern?

If the trans is all rust inside, the gears and shafts are likely pitted beyond use, but still some good parts there for sure. Drop the cluster out by removing the shaft, that will give a better look at the top gears.

Will the Crager adaptor, it's off of the 322 nailhead, fit the larger nailheads? My camera and computor aren't playing anymore , so I can't show inside******* pics.

My Lyndwood rail used a LaSalle 1959-62 between a 327 Chevy and a Banjo ford rear. I can't take a few photos if anyone wants to see them. Does someone make overhaul kits for them? I took it apart years ago and wonder if every needle bearing is there or not.

  4. Back in 1961, I had a 47 Chevy with 54 Buick engine******* and rear end. I had to toss the dynaslow and I found a Buick 3 speed which allowed me to keep the torque tube. I was told at the time, that the Buick box that I had was the same as the Olds box, except for the tailshaft. I had a hard time finding that box.

Seriously? All this time I thought it was a 36. Thanks

  7. after it's degreased, if it still won't move, soak it in vinegar to get the rust out (vinegar won't degrease). Lotsa scrubbing and resoaking may gain you enough to get it apart.

  8. Yep, I forgot to add that it was a select shift.
