A toque is not a beanie, it's a knitted cap, so there. And somebody mentioned wanting to build a Lincoln pickup truck - maybe even a crewcab. Would that be a Navigator?

Beanie is the name here for a knitted winter cap - same as a Toque. and yes beanie is also used for the goofy propeller geek hat.
This is hardly even a joke anymore but probably back in the early to mid 70's National Lam**** magazine did a Canadian themed issue. One article was a sort of test of "America's Knowledge Of Our Northern Neighbors" thing. Part of it was done in a "Question & Answer" style. Q: Detroit is considered to be the automobile capital of the United States. What is the automotive capital of Canada? A: Detroit. Trust me, it was funny then. Now, not so much.
All in all we have alot in common.. Old Cars, Hot Cars ,Cool Cars.. and Good people.. The rest is trivial.. The U.S. also has cars that are different than what we have up here.. simple changes.. but Noticable Changes..

We were in San Diego ( favorite city ) 2 summers ago shopping at a Walgreen's in a non-touristy area of town the large lady behind the counter leaned over to my 12 year old son and asked accusingly: "WHY AREN'T YOU IN SCHOOL" Scared my son speechless so I answered "We are from Canada and every summer the School Igloo melts so school is out until fall when we can build a new one" She believed me and answered back "Damb global warming " .
Both of my Grandfathers and three uncles worked at A. V. Row in Malton ( now Mississauga)when it closed. My father had a White Rose Station at Derry Rd. and Hwy 27. It wasnt long before it went ***s up. It was due to pressure from the US to s**** the Areo. It was too advanced for the times. Parker Hanifin is located in the building now. Dad still calls it the A.V.Row building.
