That’s what I am seeing. And, not sure I have ever seen one lowered.

  5. Olds is stellar. Tucker I can't understand why anyone would recreate one of those. Of course I'm one of the people that's not a fan of tuckers in any shape or form lol

When they made the "Tucker" movie, they made several replicas of the original cars. I believe they started with Studebakers and they turned out quite well. IIRC, they "wrecked" a Tucker in the movie, but it was actually one of the Studebaker conversions.

Corrrection : I just checked and Mr Google says : "The movie used five replica cars built on Ford LTD chassis with fiberglass bodies, according to the AACA – Antique Automobile Club of America. Francis Ford Coppola, who directed the film, owned two Tucker 48s, and other original Tuckers were also used in the movie, according to PBS. The crash scene used three separate artificial Tuckers, including a Studebaker modified for the rollover.
Details about the cars used in the movie:
    • Replicas:
The movie used five replica Tucker 48 cars, built with fiberglass bodies on Ford LTD chassis, according to the AACA – Antique Automobile Club of America.
    • Original Tuckers:
Francis Ford Coppola owned two Tucker 48s, and the film also used other original Tucker 48s that were borrowed or rented, according to PBS.
    • Crash Scene:
The crash scene featured three different Tucker 48s: a fiberglass body version, a Studebaker modified for the rollover, and another fiberglass version on a Ford LTD chassis, according to PBS.

The one pictured is one of Rob Ida's replicas. He was going to build 51 replicas, the same number as original Tuckers. He has a shop in Old Bridge NJ. A fantastic builder, talented, and creative. His father, Bob Sr. was the one who started the Tucker project. They were even building a Tucker prototype that was only on the drawing board. Steel or aluminum, this time.

Yes, though not one of the original 51. It's one of the 4 fiberglass replicas that Rob Ida built, this one, at the time of this picture, a recently completed build for Jack Kiely. This one appears totally stock from the exterior and interior, with the exception of being lowered, but sits on a custom chassis and has a rear transverse-mounted, twin-turbo Cadillac Northstar. Incredibly impressive build

Though Rob is a great builder, frankly one of the best in the county, he's one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Same goes for his whole family, just the nicest people. He's also extremely forthcoming with knowledge and advice, a real asset to the automotive community.

And on the topic of the Olds, it's hard to believe I've had it almost 5 year already! My 61 Olds came out great, but I honestly think this 56 is probably my favorite. I've driven the absolute balls off of this car and it still runs great. It's certainly tired. The engine leaks, smokes, ticks a little bit, but keeps running. It blew out the intake gasket where the exhaust crossover is so that's probably on the list of things to repair this year. The noise is annoying.

A couple weeks ago I did an oil change and tune up on it to get it ready for another summer. Sometimes when we go to shows, my wife will drive this car and I'll take my 61. Even though I tell her that the 61 drives better and has disc brakes, she insists to drive the 56 since she refuses to be responsible for the first chip in the paint on the 61 haha.

Here's a shot from where it wound up in Modern Rodding after I drove it up to Canada for the Jalopy Jam Up. Was a nice comfortable drive for the 8 hour haul.
