    I know why I do .. Some like a certain car/truck/motorcycle
    for a reason ...

Some , it just happens, you end up with car ,etc. and grow to enjoy it..

Others its the type of vehicle EVERYONE likes (not going to mention any thing in paticular but, you know who you are ) In your defense
I will say some automobiles are popular for a reason..[IMG]

1st picture is around 1970 ..1st vehicle I ever drove by myself
was THAT pickup .. drove plenty of farm tractors but to be on the road @ 11 years old with a 383 /4 speed pickup was pretty fun

    this pic is from 1976[IMG]

That is cool, my Father was into Hot Rodding in the 50's so the answer for me is memory and what I enjoy and relate to from that era.

Plus the American graffitti /two lane blacktop /Jimmy Wiese
Butch Jensen stuff from my younger days .. Not a better car to wrap your love around .. I prefer 56's out of the three tri-fives

For me its 53-56 F-100's. My dad bought me a '56 when I was 13 years old. It is what I learned how to drive in. Sense then we have had 6 effie's.
I still get sad thinking of the day my first one was sold off.
I can never replace it, yet I seem to try just about every year. ( I just turned 21 a few months ago)

I'm sorry. There is just not enough junk and random bits of stuff in your garage, it's too clean.

    Old shop was 30 x 50 .. I down sized , thinking I was about down
building stuff .. tossed/sold./gave away a bunch of junk

This place is 30 x 30 --I'm going to put another 30 x 30 up in back to house .....stuff ,soon

Weird question, Dad..:) So I'll give you a weird answer. I like numerous individual cars but couldn't tell you exactly why. But my favorite rods and customs are generally Fords from the late '30s through the mid '60s with Ford motors. My favorite custom is the El Matador. Unlike most of the rest of you, a Deuce roadster isn't a**** my favorites. If I were given one, I'd likely sell it and buy the '39 DeLuxe coupe I've always wanted. Don't ask why because I have no answer.

I don't think it is a weird question .. guess the Kustoms. talk to you
for some reason (yet to be determined)
Most folks like this or that
because Dad , brother , uncle, friend, etc. ) had one or a movie icon
    or whatever ....

you like , what you like .. just looking for interesting stories

I like 64 and 65 Oldsmobile F-85/Cutl*** because I had one as my first car that actually was mine and was road worthy. I still have that car (22 years later) and I have had several others over the years.

I like 70-73 Camaros because my Uncle gave me his in 1983. I was too young to drive yet, so I took it all apart to "fix it". It is still in peices today, but will eventually be a completed restoration.

I like Antique Cars and Race Cars because my Dad exposed me at an early age. He has a 1938 Plymouth, so I have a soft spot for mid to late 30's cars that are restored. I like mid to late 30's Modified stock cars because that's what was racing when I was a kid first going to races with my Dad.

I like early 30's Hot Rods because I like simplicity. Many of those early rods are very simple, yet timeless in design and style.

When Harley Earl was in charge of the GM Design center in the 50s all models had a *** appeal to me. I guess it was the tasteful use of stainless trim and the rounded curves that hooked me.

My father owned a service station/drive in restaurant/late night drag race car shop and I suppose all those evenings and weekends from age 11 driving the shop trucks/panel trucks around the lot left a huge impression on me.

I currenty have 10 trucks tucked away now ranging from finished to barely running.

  25. Some cars...because the lines just do something for me.

Old Buicks because they are what I was raised with.

1st Gen Rivieras because that was my first experience with a four wheel drift at the age of four cruising the back roads of Upstate NY with my Dad. His saying at the end of every ride.....don't tell Mom.

He****s....from mild to wild......I have yet to explain that one.

My 54F100 because parts are eazy to get for my first project, If I mess up a body panel I can find more new and used.

My next project is a 1938 Ford pick up because it is different and not a belly ****on car.

Been a while since i've found a thread in which i was inclined to babble, but i always have a tentative list of cars that i like/ intend to get over the span of years to come. Some are based on model cars i had as a kid, others are cars that my father has had over the years, and others...are just kinda my own weird taste.
i have a few now (some on the list and some not) but i'm only 26, so i have a good bit of time, god willing, to get myself in trouble with more...

    36 Ford 3 window
    40 Ford tudor
    42 Chryler coupe
    49 Olds fastback
    54 Plymouth
58 Desoto fireflite conv. or a 60 Adventurer
    59,60, or 61 2dr Imperial (i'm a big Virgil Exner-forward look fan)
    62 Plymouth savoy
    63 Plymouth savoy-fury: either/or.
63 Chrysler 300 (had one, stolen)
    63/4 Alfa Sprint GT
    64 Dodge polara 500 convertible

My Dad, uncles, and brother all owned Impalas, so it was an easy transition. I also have a weakness for bombas, based on all the old Lowrider mags my Dad left laying around. I like Novas and Challengers because my grandfather raced both-someday, I will have a blacked out, big block Nova streetbeast on Cragar S/S's with Redlines:D

I like unique craftsmanship which probably explains why I like kustoms so much. I also have a fondness for early American cl***ics since I spent 20+ years making my living restoring them. The one below is most likely my absolute favorite body style from that time and I'd bet most of our HAMB populace can relate just lil if not a lot.
