Finally someone that agrees that puddle control with MIG is a different deal than gas, TIG and Stick. MIG is something I just can't master and see no reason to. Bob

As posted about five or six pages ago, an argument that can't be won. For aspiring weldor's reading all this BS pick up an ox-acetylene torch and learn to use it. Your transition to mig and tig (even stick) will be smoother. Posting pictures of beautiful mig welds really doesn't mean that person is a welding god, most of these look like easy accessable bench work or something flat on a ch***is jig. When you can do all that stuff standing on your head, then you have my attention.

No that is not my logic!!....and if you would have read more than just one of my post you would know that.....But chances are if you are able to do the kind of "pretty welds" (as you say) that I posted pics of, Then there is a good chance you know what the **** you are doing!!.....Bottomline is I can weld! and so can my 6 year old son....I was just trying to be helpful and answer the OP question, But I am done with this thread, As I am tired of smart*** commets from people who clearly have never been in a welding cl***, Nor understand the properties of metal, And have no ****ing idea of what they are talking about. So by all means Keep goobering stuff together with your harbor freight 110 wire welder (Nothing really wrong with that If the quailty of weld is good enough for you) and I will keep welding the way I was taught from real welders who teach cl***es.......I use my Miller 250 wire welder alot, But you will never here me say that the quailty of weld is as good as what can be done with a Tig machine.......Man I do not know why I let people get to me on a hot rod forum, this is supposed to be fun!....And it seems like No matter how hard you try to share what you have learned and know. Some people want to be ***clowns and poke at you with dumb*** remarks, Until I lower myself to their level and do it is well......As far as my writing goes.......if you are attacking me about mispelled words or my poor grammer. YOU CAN GO **** YOURSELF!!.......While you dip**** teachers pets were winning spelling Bee's and running the cl*** projector. I skipped those cl***es So I could hang out at the local Speed Shop and learn to go fast.....I also had the cheerleader in the backseat of my camaro on friday nights, while you were home studying and getting calluses on your hand thinking about her.

I would agree with that for sure.

Very nice indeed!.....But not as nice as the pics I posted ......IMO

  6. It would be fun if you were not so full of yourself. Maybe if you would lighten up a bit and realize that you are not God's Gift to the World you could have a good time.

As far as spelling maybe you could click the little check mark with the ABC by it at the top of your text window. If you don't take just a little pride in what you write how can anyone expect that you take any pride in anything else that you do.

Now you think that I am being mean to you, I am not just being honest. If you leave the drama at the door you will have a lot more fun.

Mr bean, I am not full of myself!...And if I come out sounding that way then I really do have a problem with typing words here.....I am just trying to learn like everyone else. However Right is right and wrong is wrong, I was just trying to get the ones who are wrong too see why they are wrong. As if I am wrong than I need to get my money back for the cl*** I was in. And the school should be riped of their achivement awards.....regardless of how well others think I can weld or not weld, I consider myself a student, And I always strive to do better. And I will always continue to learn from others. But if you read this entire thread, It is clear that some guys got it in their heads that the harbor frieght machine they bought for $89.99 on sale makes them a welder, And some of the stuff I have seen being put on the roads that you and I share prolly daily. Scares the hell out of me, As my wife and kids are also out there on them roads.

  12. I simply couldn't imagine building cars without this basic skill. I don't mean this as a criticism. I just don't understand. I know your too far away Bob, but I'll make this offer again.

If anyone would like to learn the basics of MIG or O/A welding shoot me a PM.
Come by my shop, I'd be more than happy to let you burn some wire and rod, with a little coaching, you'll be surprised just how easy it is to learn the basics. I'll have you running decent beads in less than an hour.

  13. There is a reason why you were given two ears and one mouth...so you can listen twice as much as you speak.
Oh wait that was before the computer,so I guess that means we can all type ten times more than we listen or speak. Nevermind.
In any case I really like my MIG welds and thank my Dad and this site for the knowledge gained. But it sure isnt as pretty as a TIG.

  14. I would certainly take you up on that if I was closer.

Funny how a simple thread can deteriorate into a ******* contest so fast.

  16. I've only had one guy take me up on this offer. 6 months later he got a job at a fab shop. Two years later he runs the shop!.

  17. It's ok Don, like most threads here you have to overlook the ******** to gain the info. I've learned and been entertained by most of it!
