    This thread is funny [IMG]

The other day last week, I was over at my buddies house. I drive a real clean '79 full size chevy longbed, cl***ic two-tone blue/white, basically all stock with nice tires and rallies.

We're leaning against the brick half wall out front havin a smoke when some dude with a POS 'Bazooki Hammer Eye' (Suzuki Samuri) pulls up.

He stops and says, hey man, is this your truck? I say yea, its mine.

He says, it looks nice man, you wanna sell it? I'll give you $500 bucks right now!

I said noooo, I dont want to sell it. I said go look in the truck trader, youll see **** loads of them for sell. and i said, youll see what 500 bucks gets ya. It gets ya a roach motel with no motor, a ****ed up bed and a bench seat that smells like piss.

Dumb *******, haha, we got a laugh outta that. he didnt even get out of his bazooki to look over my truck.

  2. What would have been my first car, a pretty nice 65 Chrysler 300 2dr Hardtop, turned out to have an ***hole for an owner.

They wanted $500, got them down to $350 (this was 1981) So my dad and I gave them $150 cash deposit, and we were coming by the next night to come pay the other $200, drive it home. Next day, we came to pick up the car and there is an envelope tacked to their front door, with the $150 and a note saying that anthoer person came with the $500, so they sold it to them. I thought that was what a deposit was for?

Worse part, we knew they were home when we found the envelope, TV was on, could hear footsteps, they didn't have the nads (sorry Nads) to face a disappointed 16 year old.

    ***HOLE!

Silver lining, I didn't buy a Chrysler! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I'd be pretty pissed, too, that is a cool looking ride.

Monster--You forgot to mention, that $500 also gets you pick of the litter of Suzuki Samarais.

Craig, that ****s man! If he had it on Ebay you leave a ****load of negative feedback.
Similar thing happened when I found my Olds. I looked at it Sunday with the guy. Phoned on him Monday and went to get it. Turns out he didn't have all the papers for it. he say's come back Thursday. I said no way, I pulled a wad of cash out of my pocket and said NO, I'm leaving today with the car. He changed his tune quick when he saw the money. Needless to say the car was in my name and in my garage that night.

One time I was selling one of my old Impalas & was asking $2200.

Some dude shows up & says "I'll give you 2 for it", and I agreed. Well, he asked me to go to the bank with him & bring the ***le, and when we get to the bank he tries to slip me 2 HUNDRED dollars & tells me to sign the ***le over.

I think my exact words were "Thanks for wasting my time and insulting my intelligence you ****ing jack-***", and then suddenly he's an attorney and "we had a verbal contract". At this point I think I said a few more things that weren't very nice & told him to go **** himself.

I get pissed off just thinking about it. [IMG]

  13. Some guy did that to me with a bike... i told him i would send him a deposit so he didn't sell it to anyone else. He insisted on not worrying about it..so i get up on saturday to head over that afternoon. I gave him a call just to doublecheck directions and he tells me "Well some guy just came over and looked at it and he said he was gonna go get some money..you know i wouldnt want to screw him over"...good thing i had the directions wrong or i would've twisted his HEAD OFF!!! still pisses me off...anyway got that off my chest

Today I stopped and asked some old lady that had two 35 pickups if she would be interested in selling me some doors and a bed...she said no and that was fine. When i left she said in a *****y way "and i dont want to catch you stealing parts in the middle of the night either". That really toqued my nuts!

Young Gun, you should have informed the stupid old ***** that if you were the type to steal parts from her yard, you wouldn't have stopped in to try to buy them in the first place. I ****ing hate those people. You try to be nice and help them out and they think you are up to something. You should leave a **** under her daily driver's door handle.

If I advertise a car for 1000 and someone talks me down to 900, I take a deposit to hold the car at the agreed figure. I tell em, "If someone shows up with 901, they own it."...this gets em back in a hurry with the money. This method works great and seems to be OK with the buyers I've dealt with.

When I'm buying something, I take the cash and NEVER leave a deposit. Always take a friend to help with loading or driving. That way, the extra parts, or stereo isn't missing when ya go back to pick it up....get the deal done!!!!

I agree with hatch on buying a car. But with selling it, I'm a bit different.

I never take downpayments, ever! I see it this way. If the dude is serious about buying a car and has enough money to buy it, then he should be bringing the whole amount.

He knows his budget, and knows the price limits. So if my car is in his price limit range, then he should bring all the money.

    Money talks.

I've never put a down payment on a car. I'm afraid Ill change my mind, or the dude will change his mind, or something will happen to the car while I would be waiting (kids throwing rocks through the gl***, cats ******* all over the seats or lots of **** is missing from when I first looked at it)

When I get an itch to buy, I look for the car I want like a mad man. I know my price limits, I focus on those cars that match the limits. I grab a fist of money and buy it, if its what I want. If not, I walk.

Okay, so there is this roached out roadster body on e-bay and I bid on it and at the last minute some Chick outbids me by a ****load of money. A few days later, the guy with the body calls me and says that the bidder boned out on him (it was probably his chick trying to drive up the price). Anyway he tells me that he'll sell me the body for my high bid amount and I go for it. Anyway, I agree to drive up to Santa Barbara or some such **** to pick this thing up after a couple of weeks of fiddle-****ing around with this guy. So the Saturday morning I am supposed to pick it up, I call the guy for directiond at the ****-crack of dawn and he doesn't answer. I try calling about every hour for 4-or5 hours and he never picks up. By this time I am pissed.
My girlfriend at the time calls me while I am waiting for this guy to call me back and she's been in a car wreck the night before. So I go to attend to all of that B.S. and see if I can get her car back on the road and the guy finally calls me back. By that time it was after noon and by the time I got done getting ****ed around by him and dealing with my chick's car I was in no mood to deal with so-cal traffic so I told him I couldn't make it. He calls me later that week and by that time I had come to the conclusion that there was no f-ing way that I was going to go up and get this body because so much hinkey **** had happened. I am sure that he felt sleighted, but by that time so did I. He's probably still paying storage fees on that dumb roadster body...

Thank you for inviting me to rant on your thread, I feel better now... just in time to get out there and battle that damn so-cal traffic.
