Why is it that people want to sell a car until you try to give them cash?

I really wish I still had my 56 Chev 210, with the Ford 9 inch, muncie 4 speed, 68 vet motor, new interior........

Too bad I was a dumb 19 year old and when some guy drove up and asked what I would want for it I gave him a price.

He then pulled the money out of his wallet and said you have a deal.

He did let me drive it home to get the ***le.

Lessons learned, don't name a price if you don't want to lose it and always keep your word.

Not yet! The way I was raised you don't screw your friends over. Never get between a man and his money, his wife, or his dog. But you're right, I got my deposit money and I am only out 6 hours of time, the lost opportunity on another truck, and a lot of running around. As for the friend/neighbor that stuck his nose in where it didn't belong, now I know what kind of person he has turned into and I will write him off. He will call for help again or will need a "hook up" on parts, like he always does and I'll tell him to go pound sand. I will also warn all the people I deal with not get involved in any deals with these two yahoos. No reason for anybody else to have go thru all the headache and h***le.
