no such thing as dropped sprindles for those, dropped axles yes, show us a pic of the ends of the axle.
actually looks pretty normal to me and springs do sag with time and use....

  4. Spring eyes could have been reversed without disturbing the wrap.?

My guess is the front spring is sagging. No biggy you can get them re-arched by a spring shot but actually it looks OK like that. What's it like to drive???

  10. Mmm, looks like some kind of aftermarket overload/helper spring. Why?

Yes overload helper springs, one on each side. I thought the Moonshiners used them on the rear but I see made for the front too. I suppose you could try cranking the nuts on the helper springs eye bolt.

@khead47 .....uhmmm.....I fail to see the problem. Looks GREAT to my eyes!

Many decades ago, I had a ‘46 sedan that, shortly after I bought it (1960) it unceremoniously broke a significant leaf in the front spring. Instant California Rake! Did I complain? Did I lament my bad fortune? NO! it had a panhard bar, though I did not know the name of it at the time, and I understood my good fortune. Being a broke teenager, I was thankful!

You have been Blessed, not cursed! :D

@khead47 .....by the way....is it your Title that says your Ford is a ‘47? ‘cause everything I can see about your car’s trim and details suggests it is a 1946 model. It was common at one time to Title a car as the year in which it was sold, not the model year of it’s production. No biggie, it’s a very nice looking car no matter the the year model it is represented to be.

Yeah, like Ray, I don't see the problem either...your car looks like it is going downhill because it's a hot rod. Hot rods are supposed to have some rake. Ask me how I know. 20171112_135405.jpg It has a small block Chevy in it, doesn't it?

  17. How is that coil spring working? I don't know what's what in that picture.

  18. Think of it like an archery bow. The coil spring device is like the string (correct technical term?) on a bow that pulls the bow tighter. The end straps probably hook around the spring eyes, the spring pulls them together.

Look under the hood – there could be a 392" Chrysler in there.
