You needed a manual for that? If you're doing it manually, you obviously do need to read the manual. :)

Most manuals don't cover every single step and there are always ways to do it better.

PS: you can download the "f---ing manual" as an app now.

I thought this thread was a complete waste of time and energy, then you posted the best damn link I've seen in a long time! Thank you so much! I first learned of this book from a 92 year old machinist by the name of Lincoln Johnson. He also sold me the parts to build my first Model T!

Seriously, you just made my freakin' day! Thanks to the OP for starting this B.S. just so I could find this!:)

My 2 cents. I have seen the bashing time and again and it does seem like it comes from more of the senior and alliance members. Yeah I grit my teeth to some of the stupid questions that are asked here and I do wonder "why the hell is this person even thinking of doing this project" Well he or she may not be mechanically inclined, maybe wants to follow in their parents or grandparents footsteps, wets their draws over a traditional rod and has the balls to ask stupid questions. Instead of a couple of Hambers giving a polite answer and ending it, we constantly get a asshole full of STUPID ANSWERS bashing someone who is out there really wanting to learn. If it offends alot of you that much, maybe Ryan should post a rule against stupid questions. Better yet, just shut the fuck up!!!

  12. Yea... and when they DO read books, they learn how to do things like spell words correctly, and puctuate.

    You should try it.

Have to agree...more stupid answers than questions..
I know a heart surgeon that happens to own a 68 Bronco. He knows NOTHING about automotive repair and can easily afford to have someone build him the baddest Bronco in the land, but he WANTS to build it himself.
He asks me the "dumbest" questions on a regular basis and it never crossed my mind that he was "stupid" or "should take up another hobby".
He is obviously not a stupid man and I figure the more the merrier in the car hobby!!
Never asked him why a guy with no mechanical ability wants to build a truck, but why would I? He has the same fever I do and that's all that REALLY matters.
