i love when they keep asking for more pics of this and that and then never get back with you wether they want it or not...or when you say it needs work, and they ask if it'll make the drive across country

What ever you do, don't try giving it away for free. Talk about idiots. I have done that hoping to save myself the trouble and the dumbest, most stupid people seem to show up.

"Hey do you think you can help me put the old compressor in the trunk of my Honda?

No, you dumbass, it won't fit and it weighs probably 1000lbs. Didn't you read the f'n description or look at the photos before you came over here? It says right there the first person with an appropriate truck to haul it away gets it."

The lower the price goes, the more idiots get attracted to it. I say raise the price some and attract some better and more capable buyers.

thats what i was getting at. It doesnt make you an a-hole to know what kind of project your getting into. You would be an a-hole checking for bondo on a solid car that had been freshly sealed just so people would quit asking "why is this car not primed, or sealed?" irony brother, irony.

Selling is harder in tough times and buyer's markets.
Your price seems very good. You just have to put up with a little more than when demand is high.
Somebody always ends up taking it, if you don't take less and have the patience.

I'm single and will remain that way for the rest of my life.
I don't need a boss and don't wanna be one.
I never had any respect for guys who mention their cranky wives, looking for sympathy or making excuses. That pathetic stuff needs to stay in their own 4 walls where it belongs.

"I can't take this old truck cos it doesn't have new paint and smells...."

    Give me a f'n break...That's hilarious !
Go to your Nissan discount dealership and keep her happy...

This is exactly how it is w/ motorcycle roadracing. Lots of guys get into it only to find the easiest excuse to "quit". Some of them only bolt on parts and then never really race. But you run into them years later and they tell thier friends. "this is one of the guys I used to race with". I want to go "YOU NEVER RACED"!!!

Your best bet is the HAMB and always have great pictures with your ad.
Graigs list brings lot of loonys, I have a FREE piano on graigs list right now a lady called and said she would take it , IF I had the two dead keys fixed, had it tuned for her and delivered it to her an hour away. I wont repeat what I told her of that idea or what I thought of her.
But I did sell my travel trailer on Craigs list.

things just take a lot of time now.

In the last 2 months,a buddy of mine and I have gone to look at a couple of cars that ended up for sale cheap due to the financial situation. Both times we got there and discovered that although the photos were taken in the same place, the cars "aged" a bit between when they were shot and when we got there. (hidden meaning- photoshopped ads.) When we looked the car over, both times we said simply that we were not interested. Then the whole "well, what would You offer" thing.

My Homie and I have been buying and selling cars together and discovered a universal truth. If You are in some guys front Yard, it is easier to say that You are flat out not interested than offer him much less than he was asking for it. it avoids the whole getting chased out of the yard with a tire Iron scenario.

so, remember this...sometimes, some of us don't offer less becasue it's easier to forgo the hassle. sure it may be worth what You're asking to someone, but just not to me.

Not sure if it was mentioned above but you could advertise it here instead of the craiglist.....that will reduce the dickhead count calling you. If you were closer to a port I'd be calling you :)
