What five-speed used is used in 5.0 Mustangs from the late '90s-'02? I have a near-new one (less than 1000 miles) that will be going in the F-1. It would be nice to know the ratios, particularly 1st and 5th.

Mike, look for a smallish tag on one of the bolts holding the tailhousing to the main body. There should be a number like 1352-xxx. The 1352 tells you it's a T5. The***X tells you which T5. Match the***X number up with the one on this chart to find out what application and which ratios you have.

I have a T5 in my mullet-mobile firebird. It's a WC T5. the car has 132k miles and 5th gear synchros are a little weak, not bad, just have to shift a bit slower into 5th. Other than that it works great. I'm not too hard on it, but sometimes I get crazy and it still is smooth, quiet, and easy to shift.

Well, evidently I didn't do any research to see if there was already a Hard Luck. Turns out there is a HardLuck, and I have been noted on that a couple times already. [IMG] While on our way to the Round-Up, we had a bit of "Hard Luck" with the Studebaker, and that just seemed fit. "If I don't have bad luck, I have no luck."

i am putting a mustang T5 trans behind a stroked small block ford in my 56. i will use a late 60's bell housing, and an adapter plate. hopefully the motor will be done soon so i can get it in there. i will post then telling how it turns out. and whether the trans holds up. if it doesn't, i will probally be looking for a tremec.

I was thinking that a 327, with a T-5 and a set of 3.73 or 4.11 gears, just might be the ticket in my 36 Ford pickup. [IMG]

I have my buddies on egay right now - its a 26 spline out of a mullet Camaro with the 18* offset bellhousing. My son had one behind a 410 horse 383 Camaro that ran consistant low 12's and never had a problem. The World Class is the 10 spline Mustang beauty that pulls big money.

Root/..I am running a Richmond 5-speed behind my 392....yea these are pricey but the engine is a heavy and I didn't want a collection of shrapnel.....I just saved my pennies and saved my dimes.
I also bought a S-10 5 speed for my Red Ram in the A but that transfusion will require major surgery and I didn't want 2 rides in pieces.....Finish one first....gotta stick to my plan [IMG]

Thanks, modernbeat. I printed out a copy of the chart for my build book.
