Man, get a lawyer! I know it sounds expensive, but just a phone call from a lawyer to your claims department works wonders (I know from experience)! It does not have to be a lot of help from a lawyer, just enough for the claims department to know they can't rape you! Be sure to give your lawer plenty of ammo on your inital contact with him (give him pic's, search e-bay and Hemmings for simmilar vehicles with the prices they sold for). If you do the research, it is cheaper than if the lawyer does it (most lawyers are fine with this). If you go to church ask around for a reference (this will be the best deal because then the lawyer won't get you either). If not; even the yellow pages can help but don't pay a big retainer (do it by the hour and research the stuff he asks for yourself).

Once that is settled, dream of the next project. Thank God that you are still around to build it, and that no one else was hurt in the fire (that would have really bit)!

allow me to say that i'm VERY sorry about your loss and i couldn't possibly begin to fully understand what you're goin thru. but what you DIDN'T lose is your *passion* and *vision* to build cars. and, i'm sure, no one will forget the car that YOU built and lost due to this accident.

sounds like you have an amazing family...and anything can be achieved with that: ANOTHER CAR WITH MORE MEMORIES.

btt, sorry about that man , my dad was burned real bad when he was a trucker . he owned the business and there was a fire he used himself to put out some other guy. like 30 % of his body was burnt. count your blessings , your kids and wife are safe . a car can be built back up , a kid cant. plus why not make the car twice as bad ass now. be like " in your fuckin face fire , you tried to take this away from me , and i make it better"

jesus, that is horrible. dealing with lawyers sucks, speaking from experience from when the insurance companies tried to bend me over when my old Malibu got destroyed in an accident. but dealing with the crooked ass insurance companies is even worse. i hate them both. good luck.
