Why no East Coast HAMB Chop

Nah, just me, but I think it's a case of too much of a good thing. It's a four-door...on '38 Chev's, the two-door sedans look good chopped a lot, but, any four-doors chopped a lot I've seen looked kinda goofy to me...there's too many windows, makes 'em look like a scale model school bus, or something.

Funny, it's still being considered here while in the Central states they're already puttin something together. I can't see that NC would be out of the question for Anyone. Given Maine to Florida it's roughly in the middle and if you aren't that interested in travellin 7-800mi. for a free chop job that brings us all together, shit man, give it up.
I remember that a kid goin by rodnkustom figured out how to trailer his 49 moredoor Olds from Washington, over mountains WAY bigger than we have on this side of the country all the way to the California desert to take part in something that was he was nominated for and he then volunteered to take part in. I see guys who'd be interested in some help so far, that's a good start!

Why not get your friends together who maybe....live in the same state and do a chop of your own..why does everything have to be an event! [IMG]
Nads and I gave up and are doing his 54 Chevy next month. the chop has been done some time ago by Nads. But the back glass came out like crap. So he's gotten a Plymouth back glass. we chopped it down to size Monday and early next month(itll take Nads that long to get the insides prepped) we'll chop out the old glass and set this f-er in and build er up...All this will be done why the rest of you try and figure out what state you can trailer your car to!! 8. Moondisc looks like a good car to chop. I would suggest laying the back window down and make it a hardtop. Are the floors good? Can we chop the Winnebago too?

    Da Shop.

It's running and driving Clark, but the lights are not wired.
I'd show the shop with the doors open, but my kid has been working on the motor home, and the shop is trashed at the moment.
I've got a bigger pic of the merc I can email if someone wants to photoshop it.
My main shop is 30x40, and I've got everything here to do a chop. If I don't my bud up the street "you saw him at Syracuse Rat, big ugly fucker with the 46 Ford convert" has a body shop, and while he's not bright enough to use a computer, he's a hell of a body man and if we do this he'll be here too.
I've got one extra bedroom with a single bed, 2 couches, and if I get the bed back in the motor home it'll sleep 3 "4 if you're gay" [IMG]
Link, why make this an event? 'cause events are fun. If it were up to me, I probably wouldn't bother chopping this. But if we can all get together and have some fun it'll be worth it.

Floors are solid. I was thinking maybe 2 1/2-3", and keep the stock back window "can't cut tempered curved glass"
    I like the hardtop idea.
If we wacked the roof on the winnie, I could get it in the garage! [IMG]

  11. OK... Moondisc has a place and a car. I'm up for it. Who else is Game? What kind of welder do you have? Air Compressor?

Here's mine, when I first got it. Gonna be a Westergard style taildragger, although belly-button drive. I'll throw up some misconcept drawings this evening. My website's on my profile, if you want to see what it sort of looks like now.

    MrRocket,
Yeah, doin' El Slobo was a blast, that's why I wanna help, on whatever we're doing!

So how about New England, say the Boston area?

I'll put up a 49 Chrysler Sport Coupe or a 55 F-100. If my wife dont stop bitching her 94 Volvo is available also [IMG]

If a loud, and drinkin' crowd shows up I can offer a place in Salem, NH right off I-93. Even if you aint drinkin the locals will be.
BTW, I dont drink or smoke but enjoy watching the antics!

Whats with this whale saver shit Charlie? Heck, a Volvo is nothing more than a Ford with a different name; made in the USA also.
Sure beats driving some friggin Ricebox.

You ever get to that junkyard? Or is it going to have to wait until next year....snow is on the way! It was down to 39 last night.

  26. Here are the drawings of the '38 I was talking about, lo, these many postings ago. Even if it ain't a full-blown HAMB event, I still plan, at some point, to have an East Coast Phantom Phaeton Phest!!!

Got a ivy league college one town over. All the Volvo's have "save the whales" bumper stickers on.
    Sabb's have "save the seals"
They both have "Gore for President" stickers.
The guy that owns the yard really dicked me around on a 60 Merc grill.
When he found out it wasn't for me he quadrupled the price. My bud was willing to pay it, then he jerked me over 2 months getting it.
I'm telling everyone if they want anything out of the yard after September I'll bring them there on a Sunday and let them deal direct.

Since Up here in South western Ontario Canada is so damn far from all the fun you guys have and all I can do is read about it.......I have a sugestion what about a raffle ...take all the cars submitted and have a raffle. I liked the idea of the having a "chop off" hell could even sell the rights of the pictures or video to Street-Rodder...and make a huge donation to the hamb.....Or what about a vote?....Seems like such a good idea and there is lots of interest......I'II be watching....and waitin......ever come to Canada?....we need a Chamb chop...
