i don't understand why it doesn't bring up the advanced search automatically. why must i click on search and then be asked to click on advanced. whoever wrote code for this base forum had their head up their ***.
same thing with having to check the remember me box when logging in. instead, there should be a box marked "forget me" so if i choose to check it, it will log me off after a minute. who would think that anyone would want it the other way around. programmers can be such dumb***es.

An alternative to the piece of **** search engine here is to use Google, Bing, or one of the major search engines.

In the search field, enter your search term followed by "site:jalopyjournal.com". You can then filter and sort by result date, etc. For example, if I wanted to search for threads that included the word "flathead", I'd enter the following (minus quotations) in the search field: "flathead site:jalopyjournal.com".

That would return all content that includes the word "flathead" on JalopyJournal.com, but would not be sorted by most recent date.

To change the sorting, in Google you'd click on the "Search Tools" ****on, which would then show drop-down menus to filter by recency and sorting.

As you can see, the results are fairly current:

Bing has something similar, but it's not hidden by an additional ****on.
