  2. I'd say the large 'for sale' component of your post..... but that's just my guess.

But they didn't remove that part so I don't get it, maybe I. Left the price in is why.

That’s because they’d get carpal tunnel typing it up.

  8. You got banned for "too" @manyolcars :D :D :D

I would guess that someone inadvertently hit the wrong ****on just like the air raid alarm in Hawaii. LOL

@Speed Gems I didn't see the original post but maybe you pulled a '****** and went off on a rabbit trail so they cut it to just pertinent information. Maybe drop @Rocky a quick note and ask him, he may know.

    Speedgems,

Your post was reported by quite a few guys as a cl***ified ad posted on the main HAMB board.

The only EDIT I did was moved it from the main board to the cl***ifieds where it belongs.

Here is a copy of your ad that I moved this morning........

I just approved (For Sale) a pair of Federal Mogul heads for a flathead. I have seen the copper before ones on the McGee roadster but never ones with Aluminum tops. What can you guys tell me about them? are they super rare?
    Federal-Mogul heads for 32-36 Ford V8.
Cast copper-bronze with cast aluminum top covers on the water p***ages. The aluminum covers need repair. Made in 1936.
$3,200 per pair. Two pair available.

    They're for sale - right ?

Cl***ifieds.... not the main HAMB Board.

  10. There ya go. ;)

@corncobcoupe haven't seen you in a while, how ya been?

    What post ?

Moderators either delete ads if they are off topic, move them if they are mis-categorized
As far as cutting out a portion of your ad...be specific...what post ?.....what was cut out ?

The only time I can think of " a portion cut out" is if you post a bunch of pics of cars at car shows and some are
"off topic", a moderator may be courteous enough to remove the off topic pictures ( which takes multiple clicks- more time) instead of deleting the post all together ( one click - **** gone) requiring you to repost all those on topic pictures all together.

That's the only time I can think of.

I think your post was intended to ask about the heads because they are real interesting and you'd never seen any before. But instead it appeared to be a "for sale" ad. If you had posted it as just a picture of the heads, and asking for information about them, and not mentioned that they were for sale, and not posted a link to the ad, then it would have been fine.

So, if you want posts to not get moved or edited or deleted, DON'T post stuff for sale on the main forum. DO post pictures of neat old parts that we want to learn about.

Cob is a stand up guy,you screwed up and he fixed it for you instead of deleting because you posted it in the wrong section. HRP

  15. I can think of a time or two that I have posted and get deleted and a nasty gram.

My own fault I deserved deletion and the following personal message. I am fortunate that the boss is gracious and accepted my apology. Never the less two things come to mind, my post edited would have been great and I hate that once in a while my keyboarding skills need to be refined.

One thing that we should all bear in mind is that we sometimes cause extra work for the mods and we are lucky that they are willing to put in the work. It is easy for me, for example, to type without thinking but it is work for them to fix my blunders.

    Corncob,
    It wasn’t an ad.
It was a post on the 32 grille thread. No problem at all. I just reposted it. [emoji51] PJ.

No offense but when you put for sale, two pair available and a price in a post it is a for all intents and purposes a cl***ified ad to 99.9% of those that see it.

no..... I meant this original post question you started above.... "Why did my post get edited " on the main HAMB board.

Some one pointed it out to me this belonged in the Question and Answer section.
The fellas don't miss much and report it.

So I moved this to Q+A....

    We moved 2 on you.

The 3 strikes you're out - was just kidding

    All good.

    Going to close this one.

I deleted the ad. you stated in your new post on the main board that you do not own them. That point was certainly not clear in your original post
