So I want to use the wire wheels on my '35 Ford but besides going hydraulic brakes I would like to go with Bendix style fronts. I can put 39 to 48 brakes on '35 spindles and use the original hubs and drums. There is a kit to put Bendix brakes on 39 to 48 spindles. If I can adapt the 39 to 48 brakes and use my drums won't the Bendix kit work with hub/drums and wheels?

  2. This might get more attention if you post it on the main board.

Lincoln brakes are Bendix and will work with 40/48 Ford drums.
40/48 drums will work with the1935 wire wheels .

  4. Are you planning to change the backing plate to a 39-48 hydraulic version? I am not sure if that backing plate is able to bolt onto 35 spindles, but people with better knowledge can give input.

  5. 53-56 Ford F100 are bendix. They fit the 39-48 spindle. Theres the never ending thread on this forum. Its one of our favorites. I think the early Ford spacer that old Ford houses sell will allow the 35 rims on a modern drum.
