Hey Ya'all, For some reason, This is a new post that started out, or spun out of another http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337984 current post called "Inline six Again". For all the juicy meat Go there. Nintendo kid; Please don't confuse people by reserving the old post for your "build" that is going nowhere fast, and start a new one. Keep it all in one place dude. It's kind of like your build idea, "It's all over the place."
I think you should make it a 2 stroke, with 6 big fenderwell expansion chambers coming out one side. But thats just me, I haven't had my meds yet.
Let's get down to brass and tacks.....why waste all that time on engine schtuff.....just paint the wheels red, slam that shit, and slap some porto whites on it...DONE
Porto whites? Dame dude...your into that expensive shit!!!! I usually get by with a can or two of flat white...
yeah but porto's are traditional even if they do fly off like a fuckin' ufo when they dry out and crack
I have always been a fan, but for this build/resto mod I'll run some steam rollers "Mickeys maybe?" in the back and some nice wheels in the front, something simple and traditional. I have the moon shiny OEM caps for the car, you should see the pictures in the other thread. Really should keep the comments and good stuff over there. Maybe a MOD can step in and move that stuff over there and delete the old thread or something. PITA??? Good Ideas though, Kevin P.S. who is turtle?
Thought about it, it wasn't engineered for that and as far as I am aware there are no forged/otherwise strong enough internals to run in a diesel conversion. This would require shaving the head, decking the block, and having to heavily modify the head for an injector precup/pre-combustion chamber. 17.5/1 would be probably pushing it stock and while it is probably possible cold days would be hell for cold starts. Neat Idea though. Could steal an old mech injection pump from a v6 or 6cyl diesel "ain't nothin to em" the injection timing would be a challenge ..... HMMMMMMM....... yeah, it can be done, I think. Would the egt get too hot for the coolant system/ water jacket?
If you want to work with castings use all that ambition to build a tri-carb intake for something that already exists. There are places that will still do sand casting-- you draw it, build a wooden pattern, and then have it machined when it's done. Sounds like alot of fun to me.
