Technical Wide five Ford wheel change

Howdy all,
Before I take it apart to see - I was wondering if 40-48 Ford hubs will fit on 37 backing plates with the cable brakes over the 37 spindles.
Tossing around the idea of switching out the wide 5 wheels/hubs and running '40 5x5.5 hubs/wheels...

 

As long as the backing plates are 37 or 38, it shouldn't be a problem, as the 37-39 drums work on backing plates thru '48.
