If you go to search on the main board you will find a lot of folks that had quality issues with Coker (Alliance members get 10% off) Supposedly they have addressed these issues since Ryan got involved and they are making good with their warranty, Diamondback tires have gotten some rave reviews. There is a third option and that is to "shave" the tires whitewall, since I spent a lot of years selling tires the whitewall width is determined by the amount of black overlay that is cut away,so you can buy regular whitewalls and widen them by "shaving", stop by some of the "lowrider" shops they can point you where to get it done and you can see it firsthand. The Cornell tires sold at Pep Boys work well in 52-54 Fords with the narrow rear wheel wells as the section width and tread width is slightly narrower than tires costing more yet the height is the same,205/75R15 is the most popular size to use for clearance.
I looked at Pep Boys website and those Cornells look like a good buy. I wonder if they have that white band under the sidewall so they can be shaved.
just some more info on the shaved whitewall tires, I have real white's on my 54 but on the truck im building thats going to be my daily driver, i had some whitewalls shaved, it is a cheap alternative and i just wanted the whitewall look for it without paying whitewall prices... I had mine done for around 30 a tire so $120. for the shave and got four used tires for $100 and then mounting and balance it was around $260 all together but thats just where i went....The guy at the shop told me that you can use tires with "pinner" whitewalls or tires with white letters, and to get the widest white wall by shaving to use tires with the white lettering, so thats what i went with i am attaching some pics of my truck so you can see what they look like.....
