Wierd Stromberg and Holley...?

    I got these 2 carbs, both look like they would fit the same application but the Holley has a vacume controled throttle and governer. The Stromie has "Areotype" onit and the # 29-70 A, the Holley # is 852. Both are Brandnew NOS, the Holley looks military to me but I'm unsure. Both have the same 4 bolt pattern on the flanges. I'm really curious to figure out the origonal applications for these, thanks.

    The bolt pattern looks like the large flathead(merc and Lincoln)maybe?

    my 43 fairchild pt - 19 ranger aircraft motor has a stromberg like that on it. these motors were sometimes used in dragsters.
