Wife's 55 had a date of 5/12/1955 stamped on back of clock when we redid it 40 years ago. We are 2nd owners. Her birthday is 5/12/55-Mama's55 (see plate) and in 1980
Quite a coincidence. Beautiful car. '55 is my favorite year of the tri-fives, also being born in '55.
That ok, for my wife's birthday she asked for something that went from 0 to 150 in 3 seconds flat, I gave her a scale.
Did the research on the 55 I have owned since 1972, it was built 7 days before my wife's day of birth, Wife is not upset when I tell this fact. She says she is not old, she is a classic.
That's pretty neat. The block I'm putting together as a replacement engine for my coupe, was cast on my 18th birthday. No, it's not a flathead, it's a 351W bock.
A lady that can properly align the front sheet metal on a 40 Ford deserves that lovely 55! Happy Birthday Mam!
THX all-it's a nice old 55. In the 1980 pic it had a 57 283 with dual 4's and PG. Still have the manifold somewhere. In 82 installed my friends 327 from his street stocker track champ car. She drove it 80K miles as her main car and ran at the drags many times-guessing maybe 400 passes over the years at Sears Point and Fremont. In 2001 I redid the running gear-freshened the motor,od auto ps pb and AC-still has the 69 Camaro 12 bolt posi from 82 and the DZ distributor from the same car. Paint and uph is from 85. Still very presentable and super driver too. It's part of the family.
The car sits really nice -what’s your secret to the nice stance? Suspension, tire size? Us inquiring minds need to know!
Our lovely ladies, like a fine classic car, just seem to get more desirable as time goes on..... wish her a big Happy Birthday from us. My wife never misses a chance to tell folks that her '62 Corvair was born the same year she was. She thinks that's pretty cool.
