Putting a 383 in my project car and need to know if the old 96 Vortec Head exhaust Header pipes will bolt on to the Dart iron Eagle Heads. I want to do a mock up with an old 088 vortec block to see if it will clear steering box. Don't want to do it twice because I need to weld new motor mounts in also
Ports on a vortec head are slightly raised compared to a standard chevy port-about 1/4 inch. If the headers are true vortec headers and not regular small block headers they will bolt on but there would be a little misalignment of the port vs headers. I am not familiar with the Dart heads but believe if they are iron heads that they use standard chevy headers.
