Hell, they can call me anytime. My company pays for my phone! Goodman, like to hear what happened with the bearing. Hopefully it didn't trash a spindle...
Last night I hooked Goodman up with Raymond of Reliable Streetrods. Goodman was about 75 miles east of me and Raymond was about 20 miles away from Goodman. I have no doubt that the car will be back on the road. Mike
BACK ON THE ROAD! Sorry it took so long for the update, In Pensacola now. A very special thanks to Mike (call you when I get home) & the guys at (Appropriately named) Reliable StreetRods! Help was there faster than calling the cops & parts were there quicker than ordering a pizza..The comradery in the HotRod world is INSANE!! You guys are amazing! Thanks again, R
Let us know when you make it all the way across and down FL. That is awesome the swiftness putting the word out and getting help on the way happened. Glad to hear you are back on the road and beating pavement.
Hey just re-read your post, did Root take care of you. I stopped by his shop and was told he had to run to Pensacola with a trailer, dont know if it was for you or not? Mike
Shhhhh he's probably sleeping It takes about 14 hours to get from Pensacola to Miami, his last post was about 3:30 yesterday.
Goodman, you truely are a GOOD MAN! I am in awe of you my friend. If I saw that bitchen lil coupe at a show I never would have thought it would go cross town, let alone crass country. You RULE!!!!!
I have been watching this post very carefully, why? Because I'm so jealous of this guy right now. Good Luck.
Correction... they are thinking: <munch munch> what...<munch munch> the...<munch munch> heck is<munch munch> this thing? <munch munch>... Ben
hey goodman, i'm just curious....what kind of speeds were you driving and how did it handle on the open road? ya got have any major sore's or aches that reared their ugly heads? it look's like your gonna make it man, i'm thinking maybe you should change your name to GODman......way to go, you did Good-man! later, mike
exactly. Cops are usually pretty easy on you if you've got the right chop top.... take a look at the pic..... the roof height is perfect height to put your box of donuts!!! then they can hang around, B.S. with other cops about beating minorities and in between boasts your next raised glaze is within easy reach. No harm in a nice coffee table
Awsome. Are you looking through the windscreen or the sun roof?!?! That one picture reminds me of ratfink...
Sorry it's taken me so long to post, I've been away from my house for a week and a half and I'm pretty beat up. The ride was awesome, I got home yesterday at about 9pm.The ride thru the northern part of the Sunshine State was very, very cold(In the 20's), but in the 70's once in the south. I had a small overheating problem(alternator belt was loose, last thing I checked 3 hours later). That sucked. I had a great time, I wish I could've spent more time in each state. I'd like to thank The Jalopy Journal and all the cool people on it. A special thanks to Reliable Hotrods and the Crew, and a special thanks to Mike, I didn't forget about you. Good Lookin Out! If you guys are ever in Miami, look me up. Thanks, R

HE CALLED ME WHEN THEY GOT TO YOU SAID " YOUR NOT GONNA BELIVE WHAT CAR THIS IS !" you like my ol pimp mobile lincoln in thier shop ? dj
Goodman, amazing! You know how to live, not just exist. Just curious, now that you have done what few do. What would you do different? How was the open exhaust so close to your ears? Ideas for making the car more comfortable? Supplies? etc. I used to do stuff sorta like that before kids. Gotta get back into it. My wife and I rode a 1942 Nimbus 4 cyl. motorcyle all over the Colorado Rockies years ago. Lots of other road trips we took on a variety of old crap. I'm inspired now...thanks!
Way to go, Goodman !! I made a similar trip, only about half the length of yours, back in 1965 and I remember each minute of that trip 41 years later. I'm sure you'll recall and enjoy every minute of your trip for the rest of your life.
