It's your group and I don't want to offend, so here's the deal.
I don't believe that a hot rod has to have a small block Chevy and a Ford body to be a real hotrod. I like to be differant, radically differant.
For example my currant project is a Limey (British) hot rod. The body started out in the 1930's as a MG (they kept the same basic style right into the mid 50's) The engine is a supercharged inline 6 (DOHC) with 3-2inch side draft carburators. It's an old fashioned engine. Designed during WW2, small bore and really long stroke (4.17") I'll make my own frame and use Jaguar suspension.
The car will look really vintage (since it's made from parts I've had for more decades then most have been alive)

I believe you have a tread similar to this one in the Intro Forum.

Yes, if your car is built in a Traditional Style ( Hot Rod or Custom, but we do like a sidestep into Vintage Road racing every now and then ), it will be welcome here...

My Gramps, then my Dad, once had a 54 XK-120. I used to think that was one of the most beautiful engines I'd ever seen.

George Barris road raced a XK120

Von Dutch painted flames on a Mercedes Gullwing

    Jeffries customised a Porsche

Pete Brock, Dan Gurney, Parnelly Jones were all Hotrodders before their Road Race Carreers...

There are lots of links between Trad Hotrodding/Customising, and Vintage Roadracing

A lot of Chevy powered Fords start to give off the same vibes. Unique is good. If that is your vision, do it!! Nobody will knock you for it. Different is good as long as the basics are there. Be sure to post photos and words as you progress.

    Allright...

This Forum is for Questions and Suggestions about the Board.

    Not really for meaningless conversation.
