Generally nobody wants a longbed until it's time to go to Lowes.

I guess if it was going to be my daily and I planned on using it like a truck I'd leave it as is.

    Otherwise I'd cut it.

All the guys that are shouting about buying one that's already a shortbed...they cost more $$$ and the man has the skills to shorten the one that he already owns.

well is it running yet? have to say after helping cut a couple down it really make no difference when it was time to sell because a beat shortbox won't sell any faster that a beat longbox.

I would say yes, Should help you make a few extra bucks if you end up moving it down the road later, plus they just look better. Better balance.

I've always felt that if it's going up (like a 4x4) short beds look best, and if it's going down low, long beds look best, (and they are more useful).

i have a '58 short bed now, but i have always been playing w/ the idea of a mid bed... the short bed always seems a bit short and the long is so damn long... if you keep the proportions right in front and behind the rear wheel, i think the tweener could look great.. i'm gonna definitely try it at some point- just got to finish this one first!

Go with the 7 ft option. The long beds are really cool low, but are also REALLY long. short beds grow on trees.

I had a shorty '65 with a 355, and a muncie. Everyone here says keep it long, so you gotta cut it short just to be different.:D

I say leave it long. I've always though the short bed fleetsides look stubby. Stepside, short for sure. But the fleetsides look killer dropped, long and low. You'll be cruising mean for sure. Not to mention you'll be able to haul more stuff around.

My beater shop truck is a non-HAMB friendly 67 C/10 long bed fleetside that I z'd the frame. I always get lots of compliments on it even though it's rotted beyond repair.

Keep it long, if you want a shorty trade her for one. She'd look good lowered a bit with some reverse steelies.
