I have two Holley 94's I want to use on a dual set-up on an 8BA ford flathead. One is a 7RT and the other is a 8BA. Will these work or do I need to find another 7RT or 8BA carb?

These are very close relatives, at least; I think most or all differences are actually external in the style of choke hookup and such. Compare idle and main jets, I'm nearly certain everything else in there is identical. I can compare parts lists If you bug me for a while til I get some space in all the trouble.

I'd like to hear some more on the subject. I picked up some carbs last year before I really knew what I was buying and I'd sure like to know myself. They all looks the same on the outside.

Suppose you do have several mismatched carbs and all they require is jet changes, where would you buy the jets to make a matching set?

Frank, I can supply you with anything and everything you may need for your 94's, either new, refurbished, or used.
    Give me a holler.

Flashback, just as Bruce said, you can use them together, but if you make sure you have same jetting and power valves you will make you life much easier and the carbies work much better in harmony.

They are cousins, but may be a little different,. Check out the jet sizes in both, they are probably different. Also look down the top - the inside parts may be a different design. The inside parts probably don't make a difference, but the jets and power valves should be changed if they are different. 7RT's are 47to ? truck carbs, 8BA's 49-51 cars carbs.

You probably noticed that the tops are different styles (or should be). Almost everything interchanges between the two.

If the air horns are truck, any reputable machine shop will turn them down to a standard 2 5/8" for round $10 or so. Or, I will do it for $10 plus the shipping. Your spray bars may be different but not a problem either. They will work together or I will trade you so they are both alike.

I think spray bar groups are about '37-early '39, '39--51, '52--3 at least are the slanted ones. Later carbs go to the big booster venturi one, don't really know much after 1951.
Parts books (truck and car will be in dif volumes) should chart contents. Don't think you'll find much different in there. Do careful job matching float heights, as that affects everything.

    Thanks for the help.
I have a car and a truck carb from 1950 for an 8BA motor. I am running a stock motor and am starting with the two carb set-up as a first upgrade. I want to run both set up as primary carbs. Do any of you have a jet and power valve set-up that you could suggest to start with? I live in Raleigh, NC. (sea level). I thought 6.5 power valve and .051 jets.

51 would be normal sea-level jetting, and likely right or close. I think more toward 4.5 vac level, as vac drops fast with duals opening.
