Will These F100 Grills Interchange?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Houston Rodder, Jun 27, 2011.

  1. Hopefully, I have secured a nice 1960 F100. That is, if the US Postal Service will ever deliver the damn check! My question is can I switch a 57' F100 grill for the less attractive 60' F100 grill. Obviously, I know it can be done but is it fairly easy. Are there additional modifications necessary? What are the pitfalls?
    Thanks.

Either grill will bolt right to the fenders, it's the turn signals that get iffy. The 60's turn signals are part of the grill, where the 57's are in the fenders and valance panel. You could use the grill from the 57 and get a valance panel from a 59. It had the rectangle turn signals attached so no need to change the fenders.

Yep, HOOD, fenders and lower valance are different for the 57. I have seen some mashups before but none looked as easy as just changing the grille.

The hood is different, but it's just visual. Any of the 57-60 hoods will bolt onto any of the 57-60 trucks of the same size.
