Motion Pictures Will this ‘51 Plymouth make it from SoCal to Wash?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HEMI32, Mar 10, 2025.

  1. This 1951 Plymouth was the subject of a {future} episode of the HOT ROD Garage logo.png TV Show . . . It was basically cast off as junk . . . but Dave Chapelle saw past the bad chop top and poorly running {Chevy straight-6} engine . . . and bought it from (the now defunct) MOTORTREND logo.png studios.

Follow along and see if this old school custom can make the journey from Los Angeles to the Inland Northwest . . . with David @Freiburger . . . and a cameo appearance by Alex @Gambino_Kustoms

  2. Sure. Them engines are reliable workhorses given the right timing and the rest of the suspension and brakes being serviced.

No way would I have attempted to drive that car 1500 miles. It really wasn’t even ready after doing the initial work. I’m glad to see them make it though. I always cheer for the underdog. Thanks for the video.

Chapelle seems like a cool dude if you watch dirt head shed he not just into 4x4 trucks and jeeps he's into a little of everything.
