  11. After a few weeks and no action I went to my friends shop and picked up the cab. He was going to bodywork the back of the cab and the roof. Took a couple of days off work and did it myself. Took 3-4 hours of grinding to get all the paint and surface rust off. Then I metal prepped it and added a little "English wheel in a can". It's not perfect but decent enough for a hot rod Willys truck. Also welded the bottom of the floor and painted it Rustoleum satin black. Cab is sitting back on the frame now and ready to be bolted down for the last time.

As always, great job on this build Kevin. I learn something new anytime you post. You make things seem so uncomplicated and straightforward, but I know how much thought and effort goes into your craft. I also enjoy looking around the background of your pics. I still can't tell if it's intentional or not, but there is usually more cool stuff in your backyard than in most Hambers' garages.

  15. I'm making it a roller with a running engine. It will need wiring, brakes, driveshaft and a tranny rebuild to have some fun. And windows.

Nice, looks good! Do it yourself and it gets done! Sometimes that's the better option.

Nice job Kevin I've picked up some good ideas from this build keep up the good work. Every time you post anything I set and look around at the pic to see what I can find new in the background I wish we lived closer together I would love to come by and see your place.

  19. She's going back together. I got the cab bolted down, bed bolted down, half a floor in the bed, dash bolted in, steering box bolted in and drag link hooked up, seats bolted in. I have a fuel cell that has been sitting around here for several years so it is getting called to duty. Just basically bolting stuff on for the last time. The best part is there is less shit sitting around to trip over.

Here is pic of the steering box. It is a Ross box but I don't know the original application, anybody recognize it?

Man that truck is awesome, been reading through this thread and am amazed at what you've produced considering what you've started with, bet it'll be hard to part with.

Kev how come your shots invariably look like scenes from a shoot for a magazine cover? Great progress on the truck - your hands are obviously recovering well....
