A question for anyone with experience installing the Wilson Welding Hubs. I am using the 1937-1941 style spindle with Buick drums.

The question I have is regarding the oil seal. The counterbore in the hub for the oil seal is .375" deep and the oil seal is .500" thick. When installed the seal sticks out .125". Is this normal? My concern is it appears the seal lip is riding on the radius of the spindle and not on the straight bearing shaft diameter.

Any experience you can share would be appreciated.

The set I used was machined wrong and I had to cut down the castle nut so I could insert the cotter pin. The seal I used was only .375. He walked me through what to do and gave me a deal on the finned backing plates. Hard to reach but a good guy to deal with in my experience.
