  1. Seems to me back in the early 80's they had a pretty big show in the area. HRP

  2. ....You may be thinking of nearby Cumberland. That show still goes on.:D

  3. The Family Drive-in is still open...

  4. It has happened.
I am here in Winchester. The drive had no excitement and that is fine by me.
Paid enough in tolls to keep the government open. My wallet hurts after that beating.
Currently no internet at the house I rented, so I will be off and on randomly for awhile.
Thanks to all of you with you offers. I will be in contact.

George Washington was a surveyor in Winchester . His office is still intact there.

  6. ....He sure got around. I don't know how Martha put up with him, everywhere I go they say "George Washington slept here."

  7. Sky Line Crusiers had a nice street rod show there. It was a three day meet. Neatiest part was you could do burn outs leaving the fairgrounds and as long as you were out of it in a couple hundred feet the local sheriff that was watching would not bother you. They had great food too. Sad part members split and the show moved and I think its about a 1/2 day show now.

Right now this country could use a leader like George Washington.

  9. Also right next to White Post Va.. Has a great antique vehicle restoration shop. World class.

  10. Dirt track at the airport.... The swap meet today was damn good!

  11. That show was one of my favorites. Looked forward to it every year. Had way too much fun! It's a shame it's not there any longer. But then at my age now I probably couldn't keep up. :(

Welcome to the valley from the town of Shenandoah. If you're ever down this way stop by for a beer. I too go to cedar creek. I will be camping at the mansion. Stop by and say hello.

  13. Thanks all.
I am here. I've been pretty busy with both my work and my kids. I sold the 50 Ford. Other than my Fairlane and Mustang (both 65's) I don't have an old cruiser anymore. If someone has some thing laying around, let me know. I've been thinking about selling my street bike to get another classic cruiser.

I've been meaning to visit Winchester for several years now... Just can't seem to find the extra time.... I've got a letter my G.G Grandfather wrote describing a battle he fought there during the War of Northern Aggression....

Beautiful area, and don't forget it is only 20 minutes from Summit Point Raceway!
