window felt question

    Whats the best way to attached new window felt channel to my 55 pontiac?

    I used #4 by 1/4 flat head sheet metal screwson my 48. If you have access to the back side to where they are attached, get some stainless steel wire and make staples. Drill holes for the staples. I have done this also.

    I use 1/8" pop rivets,Iv'e had problems with screw heads breaking the window when they against the raw edge of the glass. The small pop rivets are aluminum and at least a bit softer. Also I can kinda "bury" them in the felt.Normal

    Clips to the back of the felt channel was the norm........OLDBEET

    The best way is to contact these people. They probably have what you need and they know what works well for most cars. They know their stuff. If your car uses special clips they may have them.
