I just picked up some sizeable scraps of top quality Lexan. It's clear, but I really wanted yellow tinted. Free is good and I priced the tinted stuff, it's $106 for a 4x8 sheet.
My question is this, I've seen a lot of these tuner guys running around with colored tint, this stuff has to be film right?
Where can a cheap******** like me buy yellow, or red or whatever color film?

    Thanks.

I think the window tinting shops have it.

Check with autozone or even your local stereo shop if they dont have it they should be able to point you in the right direction.

But... I have never had any luck tinting a piece of plexiglass.

One of the local boys has a pulling truck with plexi windows. I tried to tint them for him I could not get it to lay our right. Could be me but I have tinted many cars in the past and never had those kind of problems.

COOL57 I figured that, but I was thinking about doing it myself. I tinted the windows on my '70 Riviera ages ago. Except for that small lizard that accidentally got in between, it was a darn good job.....for a 19 year old punk.

Im just a green horn to the HAMB, but we have a place here in Portland called TAP Plastics. (who knows, it may be nationwide) But I would suggest a plastics place, that specialize in all sorts of films and plastic. TAP has every color youd want for film, at least they did the last time I went there.

  6. Colored window film is hard to come by, I used to weasel small quantities out of a company called Solar Graphics for small window film murals I used to do, they are in St. Pete. They had it custom made for them by the window film companies.

Do NOT tell them I sent you, just tell them what you want it for, they may or may not sell it to you

I heard the film they use for tinted windows is a synthetic made from rice or tofu or something.... [IMG]

I found 'em, right at Auto Zone. They come in some great colors, red, blue, yellow and green. It's $14.99 a roll, it's enough for two side windows or a back window on a modern car. Mind you I've got the tiniest little windows on my '34 so I roll should be more than enough.
Junk Runner what problems didja have plexi, was it static electricity and stuff?
