Need to replace a window regulator on my coupe, any suggestions or tips from any 40 owners would be greatly appreciated.
They are simply bolted to the inner door panel with machine screws. Take the door panel off, remove the glass, unbolt the regulator, replace.
I just removed mine last weekend on my Tudor to replace the glass. Don't know if it's different than a coupe. But all I had to do was remove the upper bezel and vent window. Remove the handles (hardest part of the job). Remove the door panel. Remove about 6 screws that secure the regulator and left channel and then lower the whole thing out the bottom.
Please note--some repo regulators do not have the stop cam on them and the window will drop right out when rolled all the way down.
Thanks everyone or responding, I wasn’t sure if I should tape the window “up” while switching out the regulator or not.
To prevent ever to replace again .I have always used disk brake wheel bearing grease on the gear, track and rollers and any moving parts. It doesn't cake or harden up when old or cold.
