Hey guys, having an issue with my drivers side window where it won’t go all the way up after swapping out the gl*** and window track. It stops about an inch from the top. Prior to me owning the car some one cobbed up the window crank and looks like they welded the crank arm back together. Also, they had the regulator positioned different than stock. It’s a 55 Ranch Wagon.

Anyone else dealt with something like this before? Do you think a new/original regulator will fix the problem?

Thanks for all of your help in advance!

Yes, it sounds like you need to replace the "cobbled up" window regulator and mount it in the correct stock position

Thanks Alan! I put it back in the correct position already so hopefully I can track down a window regulator and that will solve the problem.

Did a car show in Gainsville 4 or 5 years ago. I remember it was downtown near an old-time theater. I go thru there 3 or 4 times a year.

Yeah that sounds about right! Been here almost 10 months. Next time through you should check out the old restored Gulf Station downtown just west of the square.

eBay is a great place to find regulators and other door parts for our old Fords.
