    Howdy,

Just spent 30 of the most frustrating minutes trying to get an answer from the NJ DMV regarding windshield height requirements.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing required in NJ? Car will be a roadster and we are going to be chopping the widnshield shortly.

Last thing I want is to be hassled by the Man!

Up untill two years ago I had a 34 Ford Tudor chopped pretty heavily registered in New Jersey. I ran passenger plates and had it inspected every two years. Never heard any thing about minimum windshield regs. Jeeze don't give them any ideas!

I have heard of this before in ny also but have yet to hear what the requirement is exactly. My buddy from mass said something like 6" is as low as they can go over there but I dont know if thats true. Isnt it like a dollar Bill in cali???? Hell a dollar bill is right around 6" so maybe its a dollar bill everywhere?

My dad cut his '34 cabrio back in the 40s, and the rule was 4" minimum.
The section next to the pillar is the tallest, due to the cowl curve, so that's where he had 4 inches.

I've never heard of such a thing in NJ. With the new legislation coming into play from SEMA, I doubt you'd have a problem.
