Hey all. Just renewed my Alliance membership after *****ing to myself about the snafoo of the speeds on the site. I finally figured out that it costs big $$$$ to entertain us outcasts. Buck up you guys and gals! Anyhoo, I need some advice on windshield and rear window installation. I bought a 1940 Ford 2 dr. standard sedan today. It needs ALL gl***. It is in original livery ( as far as I can tell, and I want to keep it this way ) Soooooo what should I do to fill in the minor pits on the window openings so the rubber seals will seal. I want to keep the paint untouched in the area. Through the HAMB I found a vendor with great feedback who will sell all 10 pieces for about $320 shipped. They offer clear, grey, or green. I am going for a 1950's teenager kinda car. Car will be here Monday. Pics to follow. By the way-it has the original RUNNING engine!
I would put the gl*** and gaskets I'm with 3M glazing compound. Its made for installing gl*** and will flow into inconsistencies in the metal and seal it up. Who did you get the gl*** from? I need all the gl*** for my 39 tudor
I bought my gl*** from this source. The price was fair and the gl*** was good quality. I think I covered the gl*** install on my coupe on page 14 of my build thread. Have fun! http://bobscl***icautogl***.com/
