    Hello all,
have a 30 dodge and I didn't get a windshield or a windshield frame with it. Not only can I not buy a frame/there are none remanufactured; I also don't have a model to use or stencil. So here are a couple of odd ball questions. What is the best way to make a window frame that I can take and have stuffed with safety flat glass (details from anyone who has made his or her own)?

Secondly, on a lot of projects, both good and bad, through the years, I have seen windshields with screw/bolts holding them in. I assume some flexible material(also on funny cars). Anyone know about these windshields (material, actual method of fastening, etc.)? Is it simply Lexan? Does it hold up? Where would one get it and are there better materials or am I wasting my time and should I stick with glass?

Lexan is good for race cars, not for street cars.
Also not street legal. And prone to scratching.

  3. There's a few threads on making model A windshield frames, you might be able to cultivate some ideas from that.

On fiberglass cars the windshield is just glued in with butyl , unless someone reworks it for a frame.

Lexan isn't a great choice on a street car.
Its not cheap for the good stuff and even the good stuff scratches easily.
