1952-59 Ford Windshield & Rear Glass Stainless Question

When replacing the windshield or the rear gl*** on a '53 Ford Victoria, does the stainless steel trim get placed into the rubber seal before the gl*** is installed into the car or afterward?

 

It has to go in at the same time as the windshield and seal as per the Ford Shop Manual.The seal is what holds the stainless in,if you were to try to put it in after you will probably crack the gl*** or bend the stainless,also if you are replacing the headliner the rear gl*** must be removed so it is best to do both at once.You may want to check out www.usapartssupply.com for the seals and their headliner prices are from $99 and up.
