    It's a '50 2 door Mercury. Those don't grow on trees!
All of those that tried to convince you to "throw it away" remind me of a quote(I'm NOT going to get political, you can google it yourself for context) that you can use to describe them:
    "The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity"
From what you've accomplished so far,I say BRAVO!!!
    I can't wait for updates.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys...there were points in this journey where I had to begin to question my sanity... :) So I had to recreate most of the grill overrider...definitely the worst piece on the whole car....modified it to come out flush with the nose of the hood too... (it's a '51 front end)

Damn fine good job. Mine was a piece of shit too, (no offence) so I understand what it takes just to get it solid enough to make it a car again. All that rust repair can take the life out of you...

You are on the downhill slide now and you get to start doing teh fun stuff. Pretty soon, you will be making her maiden "around the neighbourhood" drive.

    Good luck, -Abone.

Your doing a great job. My Merc has just as much rust, but thats why I didn't throw it away because it's a 2 door Merc. Keep up the good work

I REALLY like the front fender lip you did. Have you thought about a matching lip on the skirts for the rear? That, to quote from "The Big Lebowski", would really tie the whole f*cking thing together, man :D !

Nice way to save a car nobody wanted too, good for you.

Looks awesome man, I actually shot you a message about it on myspace about a year ago after my buddy Joe and I ran into Louver Dude one night at City Slickers. He was saying you were thinking about selling it at the time. Well I ended up talking to someone (probably one of the many that were telling you to dump it) and lost interest in it. I have to say, you definitely turned that thing around. Can't say I would of been able to find the space, time and commitment that you've put into it.

Hope to see it up at Back to the '50s.

Looks good, I was hoping you would post some pictures of this, I remember you telling me about the old man and how he hit it in just the right spots to make it difficult to fix.

I've got a '55 Chevy parts car in my yard right now with junk front fenders on it, I'll definitely be cutting the wheel openings out of them before I scrap it, looks nice on the Merc for sure.

You mentioned a '51 parts car, got anything left of that? I need some odds and ends bullshit, a headlight ring, a driver's side grille wraparound, a passenger side "washboard" trim by the back bumper. I'd buy those pieces from you if you have any of them.

When you're all done fixing that "unsaveable" Merc, you can get started on this one. This one only has one dent in it, but it's a big one.

You and FlamedAbone are brave men!!!! That's a big task to take on. Abone's finished product should be great inspiration for you...I think when Sled's done with his the only original Merc piece will be a 24" square in the middle of the roof,LOL!!!!
You guys are awesome metal men....

The car looks great and you should be proud. There's a ton of effort there and it shows.
