Winter road trip thoughts...........anyone else?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tman, Jan 6, 2004.

  1. Man, I am jonesin' for a road trip! I had a quick shot to Mpls over the Xmas holiday but 9 hours on familiar roads in the winter didnt fill my need for windshield time. I am thinking of those trips west/east when it is really too hot to care. I am thinking of those trips with no deadline, been a long time since I did that. What I am talking about is getting in the car and just driving. I guess I am getting a little cabin fever. I havent climbed any ice yet this winter, I get this way when I dont spend enought time in the snow.

So here is to seeing many of you in far away towns this summer! Road trips are the reason we built these things, and I have a lot of building to get done in a short time!

I agree, sometimes the road just calls. 'Tudor' and I are doing a 2.5 hr roadtrip this Saturday for lunch just to get out.. Its about half way between our two locations (Atlanta and Charleston)..

  10. Road trip...warmer climate...who'd want that? [IMG] I checked a webcam in Miami which you can pan to a skys****er that displays time/temp. It read 71 degrees at 8:16 PM. Holy ****e that's such a pretty thing to see after the cold snap we've had here lately. I mean, it's actually cold enough here that I can hardly stand to keep the fan in the window to smoke. [IMG]

    Yeah, road trips rule.

  11. Hell, its not the warme temps. We hit 70 in the winter here in Rapid City (really we do)! Besides, Carlas family is taking us all to Cancun in Feb. But the thought of jumping in my car for a week or more and heading out come the end of May......? That appeals to me. We will see, the road just calls me.

  12. I just love as I watch America p*** by my big wrap around windshield. I live to drive the **** outta that car!

Next weekend is the east coast reliability run. It's 4hrs each way. To me, it's quality time behind the wheel. Quiets the winter jones for a while.

The boys at work read "Cannonball" by Brock Yates, and now everyone wants to rally somewhere. Soon as the weather warms up (wussez), we're gonna blast to Maine and back, then review store and gas receipts with time stamps to determine a winner. No prize and no real reason, either. I'm just waiting on them. I'm ready today!
