Today it was 31 degrees when I left the house this mornin'. That got me thinkin' "better get ready for winter".
    1. Switched the carbs to "W".
    2. Added a carb cover to the hood.
    2. Put the hood on.
    3. Mounted the windshield wiper.:D
What are you guys doing to get ready for the fun???

  2. changing from flip flops to my vans...of course I remember those days when the arctic type winter blasts were coming in off of Lake Michigan...keeping a few 50 bags of salt in the trunk of my 54 chevy along with a shovel and a set of chains

Draining the water and putting in the Prestone.
Pulling the Thickstun and removing the pennies from the heat riser.
Putting a piece of cardboard in front of the rad. The 180 stats don't raise the temp enough for the heater to really work. That Walker rad is just too good.

Drive it into the heated garage for paint and a new cam. Then sleep until the snow and frost is gone...

What are you running for a wiper motor? Pics would be great. I am getting tired of rain-X.

My right hand is the motor. I'm thinking a hunk of cardboard in front of the radiator too might be needed in another month.

AV8paul, What do you replace the Thickstun with? That's what I'm running.

    Pov, thanks for the complinment.

Put the toys away for the winter, break out the Jeep. Sit by the fire, sip some holiday ****tails, watch my little neices open their presents, fly down to the Carribbean for some warmth, and before you know it it'll be March. :)

Put on the 265 75 R15 studded snows and added about 400 lbs of 1 1/2 " bluestone slabs to the bed. Placed cardboard in front of the radiator. The US Radiator "dessert cooler" is too good for the Caddy motor. A lube, oil change, new brake pads and adjusted the rear brakes on the F-1 and it's ready for winter.

Best wishes for a great holiday to all!!

Think I'll change my sungl***es to a lighter tint, grab a long sleeve shirt, and go for a long drive. Fond memories of living in NY are fading away.

keeping the flip flops, closing the window in the garage , having to start ****tail hour earlier because of daylight raiding hours. contemplating doing it in the dark, absolutely nothing to do to the cars except maintaining watwerproof conditions.
