i remember a couple winters back,it was a solid minus 40-45 for a week straight. glad i was in the bahamas. longjohns go on late october, except this year, its been balmy,i was cutting gr*** on nov 5. garage heat is on,set at 50 degrees f,fire up the woodstove when im in there, when i walked out of garage today it was 70. decided to leave the DD in there for the night,it will be nice to not have to remote start it in the morning.saves on gas. remote starters-another great canadian invention.....
Got wood stocked to burn in my homemade stove, still gets only about 55 degrees with the wood stove. Just comfortable to work in...Thank God Kentucky's cold season is short....
Insulated cover-alls, lots of jersy gloves so when one pair gets soaked I can switch to another pair. I drink hard liquer in the summer (not allowed to drink beer) so I doubt it would make any difference. My propane heater ended up at a friends house. But it really doesn't make any difference pretty hard to heat the driveway.
I have to work in this...or out in this... I prefer 68 degrees and partly cloudy, but, I'll take cold over hot...if I have too. You can do something about cold, when it's hot, you can only remove so much clothing(without attracting unwanted attention). Of course, it's already been about -10, we had nearly a foot of snow last weekend, which is still around. Long Johns are in use... My shop is heated and insulated, so when I have the time and ambition, I'm good.
I am thankful to have a brother and sister in law in Phoenix that can put up with me for a month. We hit Turlock and the Big 3 in San Diego at the end of Jan. and all of Feb. I will miss all the snow and **** for some of the winter.
I got my first vehicle with a remote starter a couple of weeks ago. Don't know how I ever lived without one! Luckily I have a heated workshop to play in during our frigid winters. I keep it around 10C (50F) when I'm not in there. Makes for a nice comfortable working temp when I'm messing with my projects.
Same here. Wife said if I could find 6 figures there we can go. I love Phoenix. It's like Toronto if you replace the fir trees with palm trees. And also if you replace the traffic with... um... palm trees.
