Winter's around the corner: What are your goals?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by nate, Sep 18, 2006.

  1. It's starting to cool off here in NE Kansas so I started thinking about what I want to get done this winter. I'm hoping to get the model a chassis rolling and the drivetrain together (if I can scrape up enough red ram money). I think I can.. I think I can...

So... post your goals so when May rolls around you can kick yourself in the pants.

my goal is to scratch build a frame for my model a pick up, and have all the suspension and drivetrain all in place. I'll do more than kick myself in the pants if thats not done.

My goal, all be it a lofty one,is to build my 28 todor in time to drive it to speed week 2007.I have got a head start on fabing a frame from scratch, and I have all my suspension stuff here at the shop.It will be a long road, but I think its do-able.

I`ve been getting together all the parts to convert my 36/3 onto juice brakes. Also got a french flattie sat waiting in the garage for a full rebuild that will hopefully go in over the winter.....along with the 40 steering box, the dual exhausts the dropped axle .....feels like it`s gonna be a long winter ;)

I would like to build the 350 I have waiting on the stand. I also would like to have the interior*****oned up and paint on the car before the summer hits again, or at least by next years drags.

Oh and of course keep gathering bits and pieces for my next project.

Get the '58 Olds on the road by Spring. Get the body patched up and in suede paint with a flaked roof in time for HAMB Drags '06. Get the Sportster on the road and charging the battery. Learn to weld on Glenn's floors as opposed to random scrap metal that I've been doing. Find my next project (see sig). Get my 240Z roadworthy and sold so I have money to rewire the garage and get a real compressor in there. I'd settle for TWO of the aforementioned tasks.

UNLESS...I find a cheap roadster body (yeah, good luck!) or an RPU body soon, I will probably tear in to this:

    I have a 283 PG 58 Chebby that is screaming for a 348-tri-power 4-speed conversion!

    So I can be Toad...

    Should keep me busy...

Finish the A frame, patch panel the body, chop top, at least get it****embled to point I can test, then blow it apart for paint etc. Course I also have the flathead that I replaced with a nail valve to build and sell or maybe just sell as is with****orted parts. That should keep me busy:)

  21. When did 8 months away become "just around the corner"?

When the warm weather kicks in, then I can get some work done!

First, I need to get that damn furnace that is still sitting in my garage that hasn't been hooked up yet, hooked up and running.

Then, since my chassis is essentially done, I'm gonna get the body straightened out and painted. My goal is to have my coupe running and driving by the first break of snow in the early spring or March 15th, which ever comes last. Hey, I'm being realistic here. I have most of the parts to finish it, just need to get-r-done...

That may take alot of Beer :)

I'd like to get close to having the dodge on the road.

    It needs:
    wiring
    steering
    cooling
    suspension
    doors
    hood
    fenders
    windshield
    brakes
    seat.
    shifter.

oh wait I only have the motor/tranny half mounted.

I may not get everything done but atleast 1 or 2.
    ;)

Rebuild a flathead for my Model T; the one currently in it has oil pressure issues and smokes now. Build a top for it, and if I have any money left, buy a new radiator for it.
