Hot Rods winters cover gasket

    winters 10 bolt quick change cover gasket, do you use one? do you replace it every time you change gears? or do you find a thicker gasket, glue it to the cover and hope you don't damage it pulling the cover off? or do just gob rtv on it

    Ran a Hallibrand for years and it didn't use a cover gasket. It never really leaked.

    IMG_0143.JPG I have never used the 10 bolt style of quick change. This is the style I've used. In the dirt cars we never used any gaskets or sealants on the cover. I don't know if Winters or Frankland recommends either, I never had any issues with leakage back then, but we changed gears often, and kept the surfaces clean and knick free. A flat smooth cut file laid on the surface and rubbed was enough to get a flat surface.

    by 10 bolt, I meant the cover, like this
