    Hi All,

I was changing my gears out and noticed a little allen key stud in the drain hole. Obviously. I'm concerned. Didn't hurt anything luckily. Now...just where in the hell did it come from? I'm thinking it came from one of the treaded holes in the top gear nut. There's 3, it fits, but none of them have this stud inserted. My guess is that they retain that nut. So..questions are
    1- does it go there?
    2 - should all 3 be installed?
3 - how tight should that nut be before screwing in thise studs?

    Top Pic is the stud
Bottom Pic is where I think it goes

    Thanks a ton!

I wonder where the other 2 grub screws have gone to!!

I'd guess the big nut maintains some preload on the bearing and imagine it's no tighter than a wheelbearing nut, but could be wrong.

Call Winters 717-764-9844 and ask for tech help. They are normally busy and it may take a little while but they've always answered my questions. Check with GearheadQCE on here, he's usually got the answer.

looks like they only put in one screw from the factory. I guess 3 holes to suit whatever the bolt is clocked in so there's always some access. 15 inch lbs is the magic number
