Hot Rods Wiper Blade Install ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by swade41, Jun 27, 2025.

  1. I seem to have forgotten how to get these blades to stay on.
Do you twist that "tab" on top of the blade once you feed it through the arm, to get it to stay on ?

Phil, on my '37 Chevy, I turned the blade upside- down, brought the hook up through the wiper arm and rotated it, so the rubber rested on the windshield. Those wipers were on my car for 30+ years with lots of rain storms and never failed me. I never twisted the 'tab'.

  3. I'll give that a shot tomorrow, I took these off over 30 yrs ago, glad I still knew where they were.

They just hook into the arm so the closed end of the hook points towards the cowl and open end out towards the end of the wiper. Once in place they don't ever come off unless you lift the arm high enough to unhook them.
